I am Karan Singh Madan, the Founder and CEO of Animal & Plant Sciences.

I was born in Calcutta and did my schooling in a small hill-station town called Dehradun in the foothills of the Himalayas in India. Living with nature and an eco-friendly existence was the norm. My family had dogs who were fed on organic meats & home made natural foods and treated with natural plant medicines long before they became well known as healthy alternatives.

In my 20’s I came to the US to study and have made this country my home. I live in Connecticut surrounded by forests that are full of life and yet tranquil. My dog ‘Zara’ who is a gorgeous golden retriever loves exploring the woodlands around us and chasing all sorts of creatures that she comes across. However, Zara does not like being in the car and struggled with travel anxiety. This made family holidays with her difficult and we did not like leaving her behind.

I knew about the use of plant medicines for human anxiety so I started looking into its use for dogs. I soon realized that there is a lot of information on plant medicines for humans but not much for animals. This gave me the vision of making botanical animal health products that would be evidence based for efficacy and safety. I travelled to various integrative clinics and plant based pharmaceutical companies to learn about the healing qualities of plants, ingredients and how they can be used safely for our animals.

We created the Rooted Owl™ brand to bring ancient ingredients with scientific support via our vet formulated products. Our portfolio of products are condition based, manufactured in GMP facilities, use all organic ingredients - naturally good pet health products from the “Wise Owl” who has watched over the world for centuries.

I am Gustavo Brusa, Regional Director at Quantum Life Sciences and I’m thrilled to work with  APS and RootedOwl; a company that shares my deep passion for our furry family members.

With extensive background in the fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) industry and having led the development of global brands and solutions across different categories and geographies -including Latin America and the United States- in world-class organizations  such as The Gillette Co., P&G, Kimberly Clark, and Reckitt, I'm excited to bring my experience and enthusiasm to a team dedicated to enhancing the lives of our beloved pets by providing solutions with unique and scientifically developed formulations based on natural ingredients.

I am Florencia Nijensohn, Chief of Staff & Head of Investor Relations at Animal & Plant Sciences. My journey here has been fueled by a deep-rooted passion for natural products and a rich background in communications, with the last 3+ years of my career dedicated to various roles at Quantum Life Sciences – encompassing corporate communications, Chief of Staff responsibilities, and steering Investor Relations.

Beyond my professional pursuits, my personal choices mirror the values at the heart of Animal & Plant Sciences. Whether it's picking cosmetics or looking after my family's well-being, I've always leaned on science-backed natural solutions. It's a mindset I'm proud to bring to APS, where we're all about formulating the most safe and efficient products for our pets’ overall wellness.

While I haven't had the privilege of having a dog of my own (yet!), that hasn't stopped me from forming a special bond with animals. I shared my childhood years with two vibrant birds, and I would always jump at the chance to hang out with my cousins' dogs.

With great enthusiasm, I anticipate a future wherein our four-legged friends thrive through the benefits of safe natural therapies. I am deeply committed to this journey and grateful for the opportunity to contribute my skills and passion to APS’ mission.

I am Mica Pierani Méndez, Communications Coordinator at APS and Rooted Owl™. 
I was born and raised in Buenos Aires, Argentina, where I led a 20-year career in Musical Theater as an actress, singer, dancer, teacher and producer. Being an artist in a developing country requires a lot of passion, dedication, discipline, creativity, resilience, adaptability and charisma.

Despite living in such a huge, bustling and modern city, I have always had a special and deep connection with animals, especially with dogs. Today, César is part of my family. He is a lazy, cuddly and the most loving Rhodesian Ridgeback with whom the whole family had to work on his stress when left alone at home.

The combination of acquired skills from my former artistic life and my wish for César’s best life shaped my role within APS: I began working just as an English-Spanish translator, but ended up performing in all areas of the company, just like I did on stage. I am very proud to have helped the whole team develop an outstanding and unique line of products to improve the overall wellness of our pets.

Our team shares values that have been the basis of my growth as a professional, such as a permanent dialogue, absolute commitment, respect and excellence. My dream is that we keep growing, so that one day Rooted Owl™ can land in the city of Buenos Aires - where, on average, there is one pet for every two households - to fill our streets with happy and healthy pets.

Meet Frank Hosea, our Chief Sales Officer in North America and a passionate animal enthusiast. With an MBA from Thomas College, Frank has a background as a Senior Healthcare System Analyst and Business Intelligence Developer at Maine Health. His journey is inspired by the profound bond between humans and their pets, leading him to explore the potential of cannabinoids in enhancing the well-being of our beloved animal companions.

Motivated by a desire to make a positive impact, Frank has joined forces with Rooted Owl™. Together, they are dedicated to providing high-quality products to ensure that all pets can lead healthier and happier lives. Frank's diverse professional experience and genuine love for animals drive his commitment to the well-being of pets, making him an integral part of the Rooted Owl™ team

I am Andrea, Veterinary Advisor in Europe. I was born and raised in Valencia, Spain, where I cultivated my love for animals and veterinary medicine from a young age. Specializing in the field of animal behavior, I've dedicated my career to understanding and enhancing the lives of our beloved pets.

At 26 years of age, my professional journey has led me to work in a veterinary hospital in Brussels, Belgium, where I've closely collaborated with families and their furry companions, offering expert guidance and personalized care.

My devotion to animal welfare is reflected in my companion, Kira, a sweet dog who has been by my side for years. Her presence in my life has not only inspired me to explore new ways to improve her quality of life but has also enriched my understanding of the special bond we share with our furry friends.
